Would a million dollar life insurance policy taken out by your spouse raise flags?

I mean how much of an insurance policy does your spouse really need? I am all for getting them, but a million dollar policy seems suspicous to me. Me and my husband both have a policy in play, but it for fifty thousand. That is more than enough to bury someone and take care of any other leftover expenses. What do you think?
Thanks for the wonderful answers. I need to look into increasing our policies i never looked at it as replacing the missing income of that person as well. This has been very educational for me.
